The PEP Laboratory of the Graduate School, Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), in collaboration with the Master’s Program (S2) and Doctoral Program (S3) in Educational Research and Evaluation (PEP), once again organized PEP Lab Series as part of its ongoing efforts to enhance data analysis competencies among the academic community and the wider public. This year’s program carried the theme “Upgrading Statistical Data Analysis Skills Using Free and Powerful Software: JAMOVI” and was conducted in three online sessions on November 14, 18, and 21, 2025, via Zoom, starting at 7:00 p.m. (WIB).

The event was officially opened by the Director of the Graduate School of UNY, who, in his opening remarks, emphasized the importance of data analysis literacy in supporting research quality and evidence-based decision-making. The opening session was followed by a program report delivered by the Coordinator of the Master’s Program in PEP, who highlighted that the PEP Lab Series is a regular agenda designed to strengthen participants’ methodological capacity.

The training featured Dr. Ezi Apino, M.Pd., an Expert from the PEP Laboratory, Graduate School of UNY, as the main speaker. He provided comprehensive guidance on the use of JAMOVI, a free statistical software widely recognized for being powerful, intuitive, and user-friendly for various quantitative data analysis needs.

The training materials covered the following topics:

Session 1 (November 14, 2025): t-Test, Correlation, and Regression

Session 2 (November 18, 2025): ANOVA and ANCOVA (One- & Two-Way)

Session 3 (November 21, 2025): MANOVA and MANCOVA (One- & Two-Way)

The activity was attended by participants from diverse backgrounds, including alumni, lecturers, teachers, undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral students, as well as researchers, practitioners, and educational staff from schools, universities, government institutions, and other professional organizations.

High enthusiasm was evident from participants’ active engagement in discussions that continued until 11:00 p.m. (WIB), reflecting strong curiosity and interest in the statistical analysis techniques presented by the speaker.

Through the collaboration between the PEP Laboratory, S2 PEP, and S3 PEP, PEP Lab Series #7 is expected to continue strengthening research quality, expanding academic networks, and contributing to the enhancement of data analysis competencies across various fields.
