Bantul – A total of 28 elementary school teachers in Bantul Regency participated in a Community Service (PkM) activity entitled “Deep Learning-Based Assessment Training for Elementary School Teachers in Bantul Regency” on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025. The event took place at the Bantul Regency Office of Education, Youth, and Sports.
The event was officially opened by the Secretary of the Bantul Regency Office of Education, Youth, and Sports, Dr. Titik Sunarti Widyaningsih, M.Pd. In her speech, she expressed her appreciation for the training as an effort to improve teachers' capacity in developing assessments in line with the requirements of the Merdeka Curriculum.
This PkM activity was chaired by Prof. Dr. Ir. Edy Supriadi, M.Pd., with team members Prof. Dr. Amat Jaedun, M. Pd., and Dr. Syukrul Hamdi, M. Pd.. The main speakers in this training were Prof. Dr. Ir. Edy Supriadi, M.Pd., and Dr. Ezi Apino, M.Pd. Both delivered material covering the basic concepts of deep learning, the principles of measurement, assessment, and evaluation, as well as the relationship between assessment and learning with a deep learning approach.
Through these presentations, participants were encouraged to understand that assessment is not only a tool for measuring learning outcomes but also an important instrument in encouraging critical, creative, collaborative, and communicative thinking processes in students. Participants were also involved in hands-on practice in developing questions based on higher-order thinking skills that can be applied in their respective schools.
With this activity, teachers are expected to be better prepared to develop assessments that not only evaluate cognitive achievement but also strengthen the learning process in line with the spirit of the Merdeka Curriculum. (um)
